Ted Nugent On Obama Election: 'Pimps Whores & Welfare Brats' Voted For 'Economic & Spiritual Suicide'

For Romney, daily assaults on the truth were not simply par for the course; they were reflective of his campaign’s overall political strategy. Over the past several years, conservatives have created their own alternate reality with their own set of “facts” about President Obama and the federal government. Romney regularly fanned the flames of conservative delusion, recognizing that an angry, misinformed yet enthusiastic GOP electorate was key to his political aspirations. It was a cynical ploy – and in the hands of a more competent politician it might actually have succeeded.

Finally, there was Romney’s extraordinary and unprecedented refusal to engage in traditional campaign transparency. He never released his tax returns. He refused to reveal the names of people who raised money on behalf of his campaign. He was even less forthright about his plans of he were to be elected. The cornerstone of his economic plan was a proposal for a 20% across-the-board tax cut, which he claimed would not explode the deficit and would be paid for by closing loopholes and capping deductions. Never once did he detail what those loopholes or deductions might be.

Quite simply, Romney and his campaign were simply allergic to truth, veracity and openness.

Allergic to the truth is an understatement and delusion fits. I have a friend who constantly forwarded emails and Facebook postings about how gasoline was $1.86 a gallon in 2008 under Bush and Obama is the reason it's so high. I emailed back that it was actually approaching $5.00 a gallon in the fall of 08 and heating oil dealers were urging customers to pre-buy heating oil for $5.00. Prices didn't drop until after the election and was mostly due to to the economic crash, not anybodies energy policy. He doesn't talk to me anymore. A lot of this kind of BS floated around among Romney supporters along with a lot of other stupid hysteria and I think a lot of sensible people saw it and voted for Obama or avoided them both and voted for the Greens or Libertarians. There was a sizeable lunatic fringe around both candidates but Romney's loons were louder and much more visible.
