War on Christmas?

Ditto. It's been a few degrees over 80 actually. I still cannot quite believe that Thanksgiving just passed. I have yet to put the wreath up and the tree. I'm just not feeling very motivated. It's just too hot for Santa, carols, baking cookies and all that. I have the few presents taken care of such as they are, but otherwise I'm just all "Bah, Humbug!" this year.

Since this governor calls it a holiday tree instead of a Christmas tree because it might offend some one who will it offend? 80% of the population says it's Christian. So he's worried about offending 20% yet not offending the majority 80% of the people?

It's funny, George. I've never personally known a Jew or a Muslim who was offended when I've said the phrase "Merry Christmas". The only ones I've ever known to get upset over it are were of a particular Christian faith.

Well Jim I'll tell you this. If a person of a different faith cares enough about me to wish the best of their particular God's blessing I can fully appreciate that. And I can accept it in the manner intended. Without being offended.

I agree.

If I'm amongst Muslims and someone wishes me Eid Mubarak I am delighted. And I am equally appreciative if they, aware I'm not a Muslim, just say 'happy holiday!' in attempt to include me.

I think we get our knickers way too much in a twist over this, on both sides. Who cares what you call it. Enjoy it.
