Yeah!! I can't count how many times I've been balanced on the edge of a cliff or on a rock over a stream, had to pretzel myself under an overhanging tree or something, & thought, "I'm so glad I can do this, thanks to yoga"
Last time was last week on a rock over some surf. Despite the balance exercises I am teetery up high, & I wobbled a bit on this bit of rock & of course was more worried about falling off & smacking up the camera gear, but thanks to yoga I was able to perch there for some time. It's amazingly good for core strength too -- all the muscles you don't normally use in the course of a day.
More outdoor photographers would do yoga if they knew how much it might help!
Yay you for getting back at it. Hope you will feel inspired to keep on. Ignore snotty-lady.
Yoga isn't a competitive sport. It's not about whether you can stretch farther than the person beside you; it's about whether you can stretch a little farther than YOU did last time. You set your own goals & work to improve your own performance, never mind what others are doing.
Maybe you'll have someone nicer to sit beside next time & make some new friends.
Have fun!
