Not a day for photography

I stayed inside most of the day. It's still 44 deg C out there.

Currently around 22deg here.

Although I'm still in the office, where it's a lovely 20deg all year

But, I'm also in Melbourne, so in 15minutes it will probably start pouring rain, then suddenly change to 45deg heat, then just as suddenly drop to 4deg.

Has been warm over here too in the past couple of weeks. Yesterday was near (42.8), and 4/1 was our 4th hottest ever. Thankfully, no significant fires here. Sadly in other places around the country though.

We had 43ºC yesterday, and it only reached 26º today. I hope you, and the firefighters, enjoy the change when it reaches you.

It did not get quite that hot up here...but it got close.

Definitely not a day for photography. My camera is weather resistant but I did not want to test how it would go in those conditions.

Oh yeah! I do love an Aussie summer. Hot Better than winter in Detroit where I experienced -30.

Richard.

Yes, Sandy, I feel for the firies. Fancy being out in that weather fighting fires. I dips me lid to them.

I couldn't live in that weather. At least our hot days will only last for a short time. The most I've had on all day is a pair of Stubbies (although I don't fill them in quite the same way that I did in the 70s).

Hmmm, I'll take our current -3ºC over 46ºC any day of the week. Anything over 30ºC is unacceptable in my book, unless you have ready access to a pool / the sea. I hope things start getting more bearable (and safer, viz bush fires) down there soon.

I'm just getting over bronchitis I've had for about a month, so I haven't been able to get out & shoot for awhile. Ready to go stir crazy.

I'm off to Canberra and the NSW south coast next week for holidays thinking I will be avoiding South Australia's heat. Still hoping but I see another fire has just broken out on the far south coast near where I plan to spend several days. Just hoping some rain comes through to lower the fire hazard not just for me but for those who live down that way.
