A few of my Russian watches. Some of these were taken with a tilt lens to get the whole dial in focus.

Here's one of my Casio G Shocks with the reverse display. It's 8 years old and is beat up now-I took this when it was almost new. It's my daily beater.

Cool thread!

TheLens, your Russian watches are amazing looking and beautifully photographed.

Here's my collection:

Columbia watch (no other identifiers that I can see).

Orléan Chrono Sports, Black Face

Orléan Chrono Sports, White Face

I hunted high and low for a watch with the dual analog/digital nature of the Orléan models. They have electronic time and date, second time zone, stopwatch and alarm. These features were important to me twenty-five years ago, before anyone carried a cell phone. The Black Face is losing a couple of minutes a day in the analog movement.

Tudor Prince Oysterdate, purchased in 1975. It was on my wrist 24/7 for 15 years. The crystal has been replaced and the band has some damage. It is also losing a couple of minutes a day. I brought it to a repair shop but they couldn't fix it. I should probably try a better shop.

Group photo

This is only slightly off topic. My father received this gold pocket watch on the occasion of his retirement from a mining company railroad.

This is how it looks in our display cabinet:

This is my current favorite, a Casio Oceanus. Titanium and sapphire, atomic and solar power. High tec in a low key design.

I don't understand. What is the 10-20-30-40 dial for in the first image?
How do you tell the time with the second watch? Did you take the photo, or is this a marketing image?

Not familiar with the brand but pretty sure that the second picture is the sapphire crystal display on the back of the first watch. The word gangreserve means it is an indicator for the amount of 'power' left before a rewind is necessary - a hand wound watch. (google is your friend)

I believe the 10-20-30-40 dial is the power reserve indicator, letting the wearer know when the watch needs to be wound. The photo that follows that picture is the back of that watch.

That Speedmaster... I want it now!

Anyhow, this thread needs to be revitalized. Omega SMPc that I've had for nearly 3 years now.

On my kevlar strap.

On the OEM bracelet.

Not a good photo, but I didn't have much time, and nothing to make the watch stay in a nice position. But anyway, it's a Jacob Jensen Dimension 843, and I like it a lot. Been wearing it for a month now, and the glass is completely scratch free, as it should be.

Nice watches in here, especially that Bell & Ross. And the Skagen. Almost bought one, but I just like Jacob Jensen better (even better, cleaner looking, and they don't spam the market with similar watches, they have a few lines, and that's it)... and I got it at a really good price
