New book Sounds of the African Bush

Hi All,

Just had to share my latest achievement!

Got my authors copy of my latest book to be published!!!

Feeling very chuffed at the moment!!

For those wondering what this has to do with photography, I took about a third of the images in the book using my Pentax gear.

The book contains information and photos of a mix of common Sub-saharan mammals, birds, frogs and insects as well as a CD with recordings of these animals.

Two years worth of work finally complete!

It should get listed on Amazon in the next two weeks or so.

Just had to share this!!

Cheers,
Gordon

+1 on the congratulations! Clicked on your Amazon Author Link and noticed that your "LBJs Made Simple" is selling for $14.66 new, and $52.76 used. I bet you hope all of your new books sell as old ones.

I always joke to people that the unsigned ones will be more valuable...

Congratulations are in order, well done, your right to be chuffed, not every day you get a book published.

Now more importantly, does one dare ask on what were the other two thirds of the images captured on... rhetorical question, just teasing that's all.

Congratulations. Sound like a real labour of love. Hope it sells well.

I see your co-auther of LBGs is a Doug Newman. Is that any relative to the inimitable Ken Newman? His books are my preferred reference and we have several copies of his Southern African bird books on the shelf and in the car for travelling.

I'm very partial to birding (but not that far as into LBJs) and miss being in JHB for beautiful colorful bushveld birding venues close by. Only the sunbirds come close in beauty in CT area.

Thanks guys!

Doug is not related but we were both heavily influenced by Ken. He was one of the true gentleman of birding.

One or two of the pics were taken with an even older K100D, others with a Canon 1D mkiin and a handful were bought in by the publisher so I have no idea about those ones?

Cheers,
Gordon
