My experience was not as good. I did eventually receive what I ordered and it was in good shape despite the somewhat scary looking packaging. I seem to be in the minority here so I will just chalk this one up to an anomaly.

They weren't the last three lenses on the planet - they have more! LINK

I bought my K10D from these folks last fall and had no problems. But then again, I live with in 4 hour drive of Stratford so I can go there and kick someones ass if I am dissatisfied.

Re: Prodigital2000

Sorry you had a bad experience with them.

I however ordered a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 for Pentax and had no problems. I live in SC USA btw. I paid $360 plus no shipping. Lens arrived as promised. In a box surrounded by paper and bubble wrap. It took a week....but I was expecting that according to their website. Lens is great, and I paid $60 to $80 less than anywhere else.

I am trying to see if I qualify for the $25 rebate. Probably not since it came from Canada, but I paid so little to begin with....won't bother me.

I would highly recommend them.

I ordered a K-r and two lenses from them, no issues. (3 separate orders)

Actually once they did send me a different lens than I ordered, sent it back at their cost and quickly replaced with what I ordered.

Great prices

Pentax Canada told me that ProDigital2000 is an authorized dealer. I have since learned it is the internet arm of a long-standing shop called Carman's Foto Source. I've bought a few lenses from them with no problems or complications of any kind.

I bought a K-5 from them recently which had serious back-focus in tungsten. They allowed me to return the camera, but with a 5% restocking fee. They said their policy is to exchange, not return. I've been on their website a lot and have never noticed this policy stated. I even looked for it. The policy makes sense, but it should be stated somewhere.

Bottom line, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from ProDigital2000 again and I always check their pricing before I make a purchase.

ProDigital is indeed part of Foto Source, which is a huge Canadian collection/association of photo shops. Foto Source shops tend to have some of the best prices around

"As the retail store group grew, the name was changed to Foto Source in 1994. This enabled us to develop a marketing component coupled with volume purchasing – an unbeatable combination"

Makes you wonder what the margin on this gear really is to camera shops when some can afford to sell at this price.

I guess its all about economies of scale, if you are making a purchase order for 200 stores I guess you can get a pretty good deal

I purchased my first K5 from them. After the stain issue came to light, mine had the problem. I contacted them by email, told them the problem, and they had me send the camera back to them, since i am in the US. They handled the entire process with Pentax Canada, and i got a new body when they became available. They are not real fast on emails, but they do answer. I will purchase from them again when the need arrives.

I bought my K200D from them in January 2009 with no concerns. Come to think of it I bought some refurbished digital picture frames as well but one had some dead pixels on it. I emailed them and they just sent another one out free of charge. I'd have no reservations about ordering from them again. I'm thinking about a K-5 and from others comments I'd seriously consider either buying from them or this forum (which I've had great luck with).
