Wow, respect.

I recently started to dive a little bit more into the classical genre (listening only, not playing, mind you).
And that lead to me discovering a lot more than "good ol' Beethoven"... specifically a lot of Shostakovich, Mahler, and a little bit of Prokofiev. Just getting started, but, wow...

Interesting though. Typically Japanese in some way
It's actually a voice synthesizer. I'm sure you have seen or heard of Miku Hatsune? Miku is one of the voices they offer.

I figured out that it's a voice synthesizer from what I found on Yamaha's website and on youtube.
But I had never heard about Miku Hatsune until you brought it up.
I listened in a bit on the tracks people are creating with it... while "interesting" from an observer's point of view, that music is absolutely not for me.

I agree, it's not for everybody for sure. In fact, I don't like it when an artist / writer takes her voice into the higher ranges, but the low and midrange, I think are great. The company that owns the Miku franchise just released an English vocal bank the other day, so more songs will be done in English.

I can't remember if I was in the iTunes store or on Amazon about a year ago, but I counted over 1200 songs already just for Miku Hatsune. That does not include the other voice banks that are in the Vocoloid software (Lin and Rin, Luka and so on).

I'm not a real musician but I have more guitars than I have talent and I definitely enjoy recording vocal/acoustic guitar covers as a hobby. Sample recording link below:

I'm not what I would call a musician but I do enjoy guitar as a hobby. I play mostly old country and a bit of Americana from time to time. Glad I found this thread this should be interesting.

Well, what other term would you use for the creator of this soundsample then?
Excellent dynamic, and very well sung! I am impressed!

Thank you Mike. I have nowhere near your chops so I sing to hide my playing.
FYI - it lookst like there's a conference in San Fran in a few months. I'll be going solo so I'll try to get that GG shot and maybe watch you play one of your Benedettos.

What amp did you use for that recording? Did you shape that rhythm distortion tone in the mix?
