I am using a second hand 17" Compaq 7500 monitor that I picked up from the garbage area at work and about 2 months ago I did a rough calibration by using some online resources.

To my surprise this monitor is about spot on according to the link supplied

cheers
Keith
my original 7550 is also spot on.. thumbs up to compaq for that!

My monitor isn't too bad (NEC LCD195WVXM), but the third test with the b&W horizontal lines inside the grey area fails miserably. No way in blazes can I get it to work. I'm using a little utility called PowerStrip and it's pretty good especially for multi-monitor setups.
On the laptop I'm using @ the moment (IBM X24) it passes the black box test looking perpendicular to the screen, but only 'passes' the white box test if I'm looking about 30 degrees off perpendicular!

m8o, laptops are notorious for not having accurate color rendition, simply due to the viewing angle.. it even afflicts desktop LCDs, which is why i want to stay CRT as long as possible

Can anyone comment on using a Huey Pro to calibrate monitors?

Before I pull the trigger on the $100 I would really like to know if it is worth while.

My macbook was way off! But after calibrating it in system preferences, it's now spot-on! Now I can see all the sensor dust in my photos much more vividly!

Hee hee ... all the monitors on my desk are crap ... but my company doesn't really care anyway.

Here's my setup ... it's just mainly to look at graphs and alarms anyway.
