I suppose the strangest things I have ever had in my camera bag would be: a 10 Oz platinum ingot, a piece of the Berlin wall, a .50 caliber sniper rifle bullet, a human tooth - none of these things were in my bag at the same time mind you.

I used to have a ferret that liked to crawl in my bag. Sometimes he'd take a toy with him and leave it there and I wouldn't find it until sometime later.
That is just adorable....I sometimes find squeaky toys from my housemates Labrador puppy in mine. I have also had a kitten make a home in my Flipside 300.

Diapers. I wound up using lens wipes in lieu of baby wipes as well on that trip if I recall properly.

An active Chickadee nest.

I let her and her little family have it for the duration of the season and went down to Goodwill and picked up a very decent replacement for $1.50 which I like better than the "real" camera bag. She was putting it to better use than I was.

I felt honored that she approved of my taste in camera gear.

I found a pistol that I had thought was "missing" after about a month of searching. I even filed a report it was missing. Then one day while loading the bag...there it was. Strange, because I don't recall ever carrying a pistol in my camera bag, I usually keep it in my sock when out and about....as in "sure, I'll give you all my cash, let me get it out of my sock for you."

Regards!

Ants... a little adventure doll... and a piece of heather from a tour up the Antrim coast on the Best Day Ever.
Not all at once.

A red lace thong, worn that I found in an Olympus kit I bought at a charity shop, the offending - offensive given the skid marks - article was stuffed between the padding and the bag outer cover. I felt a lump and investigated, I'm glad I did, they would probably have been a source of fungus!

A lace version of these? (We call these "thongs" in Oz.)

I've got an evil imp in my camera bag - it turns all my beautifully composed and crafted photographs into dross when I'm not looking.

I have allsorts in my bag at times. I ride a motorcycle so often have sunglasses, balaclava, visor wipes etc.
My camera goes with me down to the docks and is convenient for carrying my Marine VHF radio and also my Trainspotting guides when down at the railways.

Mostly I carry food in the top section when I'm out and about. Smoked sausages are a favourite snack!

Also being diabetic my Insulin and blood meter can often be found in there when I'm out
