mixed emotions

This photo was the first one I ever had published. Yesterday, I ran across a pristine copy of the magazine that had used it as their cover. The magazine was wrapped in plastic and displayed on a rack along with other "collectible" magazines. My wife had never seen it, so it gave my ego a little boost to show it to her. But reality brought me back to earth when I remembered we were in an antique store.

So much for the ego boost.

Time does have a way of marching on without us, doesn't it?

Unfortunately, that is very true.

Yep. I've tried getting time to slow down, but it doesn't listen to me.

Time doesn't listen to me either. I've even tried bribing it but to no avail.

Last Halloween my wife and I were invited to a costume party. The theme was "come as your favorite flower." We had to go as a dried arrangement.

It's antique status aside... that's a very nice shot.

Thanks. These days, I actually work in that building that's lit up...but this pic was taken about 10 years before I started working there.

I think it actually speeds up when you do that!

It's a lovely shot, despie it's age.. Speaking of which, I'm now at the stage where they're starting to repace parts.

If it makes you feel any better, for all those Photons in that image, travelling at the speed of light, where time stops, literally no time has passed whatsoever.

To paraphrase Andrew Marvel ("To His Coy Mistress", the task is not to make time stand still (Which defies the laws of physics!) but rather to make it run!

Rudyard Kipling also states in his inspirational poem "IF":
"If you can fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it..."

Take heart!
