Just ran a Transcend SDHC card through the washer/dryer

It was in a case and seems none the worse for the experience--working fine.

Can you say "Dang!"?

Many SD cards are marketed as being waterproof

After losing images very important to me, I'm a big, BIG fan of redundant back ups. I'm glad to hear your card survived it's journey!

I guess I should say there were no files on the card during its adventure.

I wonder how it would have done with an old ringer washer?

Lucky, but yea, SD cards can be tough! Depends on brand/series, though

Golden opportunity missed. But I felt dumb enough having washed a clean card I'd really have been embarrassed if it had had photos on it.

Or being beaten against a rock down by the creek on Monday afternoon.

Very good. I simply inserted my expensive Sandisk extreme 3 into my phone and it farted out after a few weeks of light use. This is the one and only time I opted for the more expensive option when it comes to SD cards, and the only time I have ever had a faulty card. I should have stuck to my philosophy that all cards are pretty much the same, only the labels and marketing differ.
