Heehee. Can be, sort of. I've got a lot of old stuff that's just been passed on or is half-functional. I've always made a practice of trying to keep around loaners and prezzies for people wanting to learn film photography, which results in a lot of not-quite-useful-for-that stuff kicking around. I've sometimes figured if anyone tried to burgle me, they wouldn't know what's worth anything, though. Seems like a lot to me, anyway, but I know it'd be dwarfed by some peoples' collections.

That used to be me, despite periodic purges and selloffs.
When we evacuated ahead of Sandy I could only take my most valuable (to me) working gear due to limited space (one minivan for a family of three).
What I left behind was ruined in the flood, but I miss little of it as most was by no measure essential.
Since then when finances permit I have bought gear, but trying not to replace things I'll never use.
Unfortunately (?) there are still so many bargains on film gear...

I appreciate your concern and kind thoughts.

It was frightening, but we were never in physical danger from the storm.
After two weeks things got pretty tense at the Red Cross shelter though.

We couldn't go back to our old place and everything left behind was ruined.
Our insurance didn't cover flood damage. Fortunately FEMA helped us some.
We found another place and by now our household is back together, mostly.

In the end all we lost was "stuff", much of which we didn't really need.
So I try to look at it in some small way as a blessing, too...

Chris
