As a Long Islander - yes, Queens (and Brooklyn) are on Long Island - I know many people who own or have owned boats.

I will contribute two boat ownership truisms:

- A boat is a hole in the ocean into which you must keep shoveling money.

- It's much better to have a friend with a boat than to own one yourself.

Chris
Also, the two happiest days of boat ownership are the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.

Does "trying new hobbies" count as a hobby? Photography is the only one I've seriously stuck with recently, but in the past:

RC helicopters (not drones)
DJ'ing
Car audio
Programmed holiday lighting
Want to do model trains

I'm currently working on getting a good editing workplace, which I've actually pretty much wrapped up for the time being. So I guess computers/workspace could be added to the list, if only as another temporary hobby.

The local craft beer store has been adding a lot of small-batch brews... does a weekly taste of a new beer count?

Otherwise, lately I haven't really had time for anything.

Gaming (i.e. Xbox & PC) is my other main hobby. I have a (cheap) racing rig and a VR headset which is the closest I'll ever come to being a racing driver.

I have several professional musician friends who are like little kids with venues beginning to reopen.

My latest reluctant hobby seems to be keeping my aging car on the road, it has a taste for money an I am not ready to replace it just yet.

Some things I do myself, it is insisting on new front wheel bearings now and for that the damn thing is going into a garage.

I can't help but quantify the cost as a percentage of the latest lens crush .

my hobbies are rather expensive. Guitar (playing/collecting), traveling (when covid is lifted), and just creating art, whatever that means. Be it in writing, or drawing, or painting, or photographing or whatever. 'art' and im into it

Not keeping a car running feels like betraying it really. It trusted you!

I'm hoping to get it to trust someone else later in the year, in the meantime it gets me to the places to point a lens at, so there is that.
