I did not build the shelves; just assembled them.
Strange take away from the original post but...

Well I am in awe, and envious of your large record collection. Mine pales in comparison at a couple hundred LP records.

I am also awestruck and envious of your huge song collection. I thought I was something special with just over 7,000 songs (and growing) on my iPod, and now my iPhone. But 30,000 songs.

Uf da!

Been channelling my inner petrolhead for the last 20-odd years, with some success and and a truckload of fun! This is the latest iteration, started out as a bog standard MX5 SE (MSM in USA), not so standard now and a whole lot quicker

Most of my library on my iPhone is complete albums. I do have single songs that were downloaded or taken from an album and made into some sort of compilation. I have a 256 gb Iphone and purposely limit it's hard drive to music files. I have very few apps, I do not often use it to take videos or pictures, and I will never use it to take the place of monetary transactions. It's for calling, texting, storing and listening to music and accessing the Internet. 29,284 songs currently.
Itunes used to break it down into total number of albums, total number of artists, total days worth of music. Now I can only easily see total number of songs.
I think my 32gb iPod has a little more than 7,000 songs.

I like old stuff.

This, for instance, is a Hobbs and Co armory lock from 1892-1893. Alfred Hobbs, the founder of the company was responsible for the Great Lock Controversy of 1851.

This lock is 8 x 5 x 1" and is a five lever lock.

I wonder how long it would take the Lock Picking Lawyer to break into that?

I hear what you say,if I factor in a new set of tyres, potential other damage/wear and tear I’ll probably look into the possibility of hiring a “track-ready” MX5 for a day. It’s definitely on the bucket list though!

Probably not long at all. But, I do wonder if the sheer size of these locks would be a problem for modern (small) lock picking tools?

Too much camera gear is a good excuse to buy another camera bag.
Other hobbies aren't so easy and require different storage solutions.

I just ordered 6 - 26 quart covered plastic storage boxes for my N scale model trains.
It's another collection that has grown so much that it will soon be out of control.

Chris,
I had a Hornby OO scale layout as a lad and have always had a hankering to get into model railways again!
