Many may know last night the Earth, Sun and Mars aligned, an astrological alignment that happens once every 778 days. What you may not know is that, over the next 20 months, there will be 4 'Blood Moons,' each followed by six successive full moons. A Blood Moon is a condition in which the moon appears red to a viewer anywhere on Earth as a result of a total lunar eclipse. The sequence of 4 Blood Moons each followed by six full moons (a Tetrad) has only happened a few times in the last several thousand years, so lots of mystics will get pretty excited about this. After all, the Mayan Calendar thing didn't work out, so maybe this be will the End of Days marker.
Ignoring the more mystical Christian implication of a Tetrad, this will certainly present an opportunity for something different to our Astrophotographers and long-lens members. I plan to experiment with my Q and Q7 (just for grins - I don't expect much). Here's an article with some info. Ignore the 'End Times' stuff. I'm sure there are more reasonable versions around the net.
Or maybe pay attention to the 'End of Days' stuff and capture the end of the world.
