First post. Hi all, I'm Debbie and live in Kansas. I do accounts payable for the state. Work certainly interfers with my favorite hobby, photography. I've had the K100d less than 24 hours so haven't had nearly as much fun time as I would like!

Hi,

I'm Bill from Chicago, I am a union sheet metal worker (think hvac). I have recently added photography to my long list of hobbies. I actually sold off parts from another hobby to start this one.

I'm Larry - down in the deep south of Georgia in the US.
I'm a Ramblin Wreck from Georgia Tech and a helofan engineer as the song goes. I'm an electrical engineer and have been designing software, firmware and hardware for over 20 years.
Wish I could get ahold of source code for my camera (K100D). Bet I could 'tweek' it!!
I've been into photography off and on for about 20 years, ever since I got a Simmons outdoor camera and took some pictures and
got squat and wanted to know why - went through sever Minoltas,
X700, X370, X370s.
I went digital with the Nikon 5700 about 2 years ago when I was mislead into thinking I could do wildlife photos with it.
So now - I have an honest to goodness digital camera that allows creative control without having to take a 2nd mortgage and loving it.
I should scan some of my old 35mm pictures and post too. Like the one of me strapping 2 deer on the back of my motorcycle after a successful hunt! Or the owl looking down at me from a tree.
Or the Racoon about to jump me!
Anyway - nice to meet such a diverse bunch of folks that I can share and learn my love of photography with.

Larry

My real names Stu (Short for Stewart). I live in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia Canada. Otherwise known as Gods Country. And I'm on permant disability, which is hopefully giving me the chance to make a living off of photography. I would love to get paid to enjoy life

Hi

my name is Randy and I was born in a little town called penetanguishene ontario canada.
I now live 5km away. I am a proud father of a daughter, and also a son who is in the arms of god. I also have 2 wonderful step kids and a great live-in girlfriend.
I used to work in factories and they all closed one me, so I took up tool and die making. after a tragety in my life,
Now I work with people who have intelletual disabilites (mentally handycapped) and really like it.,
I took up photography in the 80's and due to cost reasons, put it down in the early 90's.
now I want to buy a DSLR and rediscover photography again. my eyes are not like they used to be, so I now need autofocus (well, this is my excuse for a new camera)

looking forward to a pentax and hoping to meet some of you on a photo outting.

cheers

Welcome aboard Randy,
It seems at our age auto focus is needed more and more. We have many upcomming photo shoots we have talked about for 2007 here in the north east US. and the invitation to all members to join if they can is always extended. Would be nice to hook up and do a shoot sometime.

Good Shooting.
Cheers: David

Hi I am James. Working in public sector as doctor. Started experimenting photography with dad's old canon 650 and got addicted to this expensive hobby.

Just convinced a few colleague to pick up pentax system too ...

And I live in melbourne australia

I live in Geelong Victoria, about an hour outside of Melbourne, with my wife and two kids.
I'm a IT and Camera sales manager. Selling K100's like hotcakes, and presold quite a few K10's as well.
Cheers,
Scott.

Your posts always amazed me. The photos are always so rich in colour with great compositions. 20 years of experience is not worth nothing!
