I'm going insane!!!

Well, I'm off work for the next 3 weeks so here I am relaxing at my country house up in the woods 2 hours north of Montreal for a few days. All nice!

Been taking long walks in the woods and snapping a ton of nice nature pics, and am winding down a lot. All nice.

Been fishing a lot and caught a few nice lake trouts and walleyes. Real nice!

Going to be alternating between the country house and my condo in Montreal as I have maintenance work to do in both places. Again all nice...

So why am I going insane?

Well, there is no high speed internet here at the country house. It's all dialup, and the phone lines are so bad I am lucky to connect at 28.8! It's fine to send and receive email, but it's so slow that I have to navigate this board with my browser in "all text" mode and can't look at the wonderfull pictures you folks post!!!!

Whats equally as bad is that I can't really post any pics unless I resize and butcher them to make the upload time tolerable.

I think I'm going thru withdrawl!

I guess I'll just have to go catch a few more fishies to cure this withdrawl...

Being off the forums for a few weeks is a good thing. Enjoy the fish and the walks. take a ton of pictures and I'm sure you will have a ton to show us all on your return. Enjoy the vacation.

Well if you get too crazy come on down and use the other beach house for a week, and just say the hell with the work.

I feel your pain. A few weeks ago, my husband and I went to the beach for a few days. We had our laptop with us, but the hotel we were staying at didn't offer internet access, so I had to make do with whatever I could pick up via WiFi, which was unpredictable.

For a while, my parents in Tennessee, who live in a rural area didn't have any internet service available beyond dial-up, so I totally understand. Since they've been there, though, their ISP has added DSL and the parents hopped aboard--thank goodness!

I'm going to see them for a week on Saturday, so I won't be out of touch with anybody, including you guys.

Yes, you can enjoy your vacation, even with Internet access. Just the idea of not having to go to work is enough for me.

Well folks I am now back in town...

Fortunately I don't go back to work until friday morning... good thing as I have a TON of catching up to do on this board!

I really REALLY sympathise with you man. I mean between a condo in Montreal and a cottage 2 hours out. Oh God, do I ever feel your pain at having no internet.

If that is what it takes to send somebody crazy, I would risk it.
Sounds great, a chance to unwind like that, relax etc, who would be worried about the 'necessities'?
