My grandson spent the weekend and we wreaked havoc on the new speakers! From Lynyrd Skynyrd to The Beatles, we rocked the night away! He cracked up when I began playing the air guitar. Didn't know grandpa had those moves! (In all reality, I probably looked like an old fool, but I was havin' fun.) When my daughter came to pick him up, she said, "Dad, you're never gonna' grow up, are you!" "Nope," says I.
At any rate, the new Yamahas really are great and I just can't seem to get enough of that awesome bass thump, much to the dismay of my dog!

Dirtex cleaner easily remove the coating of tar on the cabinets.
Lo and behold underneath it all the vinyl finish was like new.
Here's what they'll look like - once I get some houseplants! :
You can see the down-firing woofer in the gap at the bottom of the cabinets.
They have good bass and a very well-balanced sound in a small speaker.

My Logitech PC speakers have a sub-woofer that is down-firing and has a bass reflex port that faces forward and it works to perfection. It's small.... about the size of two cigar boxes, side-by-side .... but the sound is totally out of proportion to its size. Every piece of Logitech equipment I've ever bought has been first rate goods. Their wireless mouse is great.
