And in more sporting news to hand...

Feint of heart caution

Go no further if feint of heart.

Taking photographs of athletic field events is fraught with hazard. No matter what happens just remember though, YOU are the photographer and YOU must seize the moment...

OUCH!

Next time I go to a sporting event, I'll be carrying full body armor.

That photo is a little nauseating to look at. I felt my feet going pins and needles as well...

Just another reason for me not to shoot sporting events. Nothing like painful photography, OUCH THAT MUST REALLY HURT.

Wouldn't have expected to hear that from a doctor.

I am not used to seeing such a penetrating injury (though I would definitely jump out to photograph instead of feeling nausea about it) and I am in the line of physician field instead of emergency medicine or surgery expertise.

I'm simply amazed that the photographer though of his editor questioning him as to why he didn't take the shot!

Sorry about the image there James, I figured I'd put up a warning, which is more than can be said for our local journal of record!

What a TOOL!!!! That is like standing on the track during a NASCAR race to get a head on shot of the cars coming. Future Darwin Award winner there.

No, Gooshin; that's just plain stupid. The running of the bulls is the silliest "tradition" I can imagine.

Reminds me (painfully) of the time I got blindsided at a college football game. I was on the sidelines at about the 30 yd line, following the ball with my 300mm lens and a linesman got pushed out of bounds and hit me from the left. Well at the time I weighed all of 150lbs and this bruiser topped 300 with his gear on. Needless to say, he won. Didn't break anything but I had trouble seeing straight for about 20 minutes and was black and blue for a week. I did my job though and protected my camera! Not a scratch!

p.s. as for running with the bulls.. confusious say "man who shake finger in front of bulls nose will soon has selfsame bull's horn up his arse" STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!
