For once we beat the stereotype of Scottish weather - it doesn't always suck

I like this. The ultimate snow plow. good thing they're on rails. A little hard to see where they're going.
That was neat to watch...thanks! You guys are doing better at the sucking weather, but still nothing like as well as we do over in the Lounge....where you are certainly welcome!

Most of you can't do this...but we can...well, some of us can!

First week of February......wanna trade?

Regards!

It's a beautiful day (in the low f40's, blue sky, no wind) but--if the forecasters are to be believed (they've been really iffy this winter) it will be very windy and very cold this week-end. Still there are hopeful signs:

That V8 snow blower is nice but when you need to move some serious snow like we get in Upstate NY, you need this bad boy!

Where I grew up in Germany we only get a couple of days of snow a year, and it's hardly ever more than 5 - 10 cm. The amounts of snow you get in the northern US (and Scandinavia etc.) always made me jealous and reminds me of Calvin's and Hobbes' adventures with the snow goons and snowmen:

You guys are getting better all the time at sucking weather, but over in the Pentax Lounge, we are still far ahead of you and light years ahead at sucking weather reporting......one of our members recently reported that his dog's tail froze solid and a 70mph wind gust blew it all the a way to the Canadian border......that is some really sucking weather!

Regards!

Well, seems like Boston's decided to share some bad weather with us. It's nasty out now and supposed to get worse--not much snow but high winds and seriously sub-freezing temperatures .

Storm warning for Lake Michigan so we're tied up in Indiana Harbour until it's blown through

50knot winds and 27 ft seas are not a good place to be in a great lakes freighter, not to mention one without any cargo like us

No, I'd think not--especially not one with a green 3rd mate :~)

Ok, so it's 6F with winds at 25mph and gusts to 50 so I think I have standing to lodge an official complaint--which I hereby do as follows: (&*()*(& ^#@%^&)+!@!!!!!

Hey now, I've improved quite a bit since I've been sailing as third mate!

-15C here in Indiana Harbour and snowing. Thankfully we're tucked away enough that we're not getting the high winds that are on the lake

12F here in central New Jersey now that the sun is up with gusty winds: Chill factor of -15F. We're supposed to drop to 0F or even a bit below (ambient temperature) tonight with continued gusty winds. A perfect Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend.
