Cybertron Borg Q
Processor 3.8 GHz FX-Series Quad-Core FX-4120
RAM 8 GB DDR3 (I'll probably double that at some point.)
Hard Drive 1000 GB SATA (Plus I have a 1TB Sata drive to add and I also have a 1TB external backup drive....)
NVIDIA GeForce GT610 1GB Video Card
450 Watt Power Supply
24X DVD±RW Dual-Layer Drive
Audio: 7.1 Channel
GB Lan (Fine by me. I don't like wireless for the PC.)
Number of USB 2.0 Ports 4
Number of USB 3.0 Ports 4
Series CybertronPC Borg-Q GM4213B
Item model number GM4213B
Hardware Platform PC
Operating System Windows 8.1 (Eh, definitely not too thrilled with this, but I can dual boot with 7 Pro I guess, or maybe jury rig 8.1 a bit. There are plenty of programs now to put back the Win 7 desktop, menus and that, plus it might actually be 8.1 which is slightly better. I will likely upgrade to 9 when it comes out as it previews seem to indicate they finally listened to all the complaining and revised it backwards a bit to better suit people who work with PC's as well as people who use touch screens.)
Color Green (Of course....)
Processor Brand AMD
Processor Count 1
Hard Drive Interface Serial ATA-300
Hard Drive Rotational Speed 7200 RPM
Optical Drive Type DVD-RW/dual layer. This will be nice. I don't have a dual layer one now and dual layer does come in handy now and again...)
I sure wish I could use the additional memory I have but unfortunately the mother board doesn't support it or so says a rep at Cybertron. It's too slow. This is my first gaming PC per se so I'm not sure how the memory works in these vs a regular PC. I do have a Crucial 4GB 240-PIN PC3-8500 DIMM DDR3 kit I want to use but I'm admittedly not much up on the specifics of DDR3 ram speeds as yet so if this guy BS'ed me just to sell more memory and it can be used, will cycle down, I'd appreciate someone giving me a head's up so I don't waste my $$$ later on more memory if I don't need to!
Yes, it is an actual Christmas present. My 5 year old Dell has got some major issues. I've practically replaced every part in it at least once and in some cases twice now. I'm totally fed up with the thing and Dad asked me if I wanted a new PC for Christmas. I've actually been eying one of these Borg Q's for while now. I'm ready for a proper gamer's PC. I can't afford a really expensive one. These are low end but rather nice in terms of what you get for the $$$ and they have mostly good reviews. Dad doesn't even use the PC at this point. His eyes are too bad now. So he said to buy what would suit me this time. That would be this!
I must admit it amuses me a bit. Borg Q? So Trek, lol. Case is a bit over the top, but that's typical of gamer PC's. It's got plenty of room for expansion. Lots of empty bays...
