Minolta MK 8x40 Extra Wide I bought about 25 years ago from my (then) local Pentax dealer.

I just decided to get a pair of birding binoculars last year and settled on the Vortex Diamondback 8x42
Vortex Optics - Diamondback 8x42
The IQ is very good and for the price I don't worry about them too much.
They come with a sturdy case and carry a lifetime warranty.

Astronomy, too...

One of my coworkers enjoys stargazing and spends far more money on telescopes etc. than any camera nut I know, even me.
From my conversations with him it seems he spends as much time observing using binoculars as with his expensive telescopes.

I had not noticed that all of their page headers have some type of snarky message.
Wonder if marketing dept pandering to the hunters affects sales to environmentally minded birders?
