It's not really such a big deal, but the photo is from here:
SMC PENTAX A 50MM 1.4

::Classic Glass:: ? Pentax SMC A 50mm ?/1.7 Prime lens PKA K-3, K-5, K-30 | eBay

and cropped so you can't see the real speed

WOW you got an amazing eye for detail - looks like some folks will go to infinity and beyond to just sell... sad really.. Interesting if the original photo of A 50mm 1.4 was stolen ? If so - then that is even more worrying

He says he's a photographer, but he didn't shoot any of the photos.

Hi,
I just sent a query asking if it was a photograph of the actual lens that he was selling.
I await his reply!
Regards.

The text reflects little understanding of the product too.

He got back to me...and was pretty upset. Here's what he said:

Sorry but exactly who are you? A random individual that sends random spurious emails to people. If people weren't happy with the products or services they receive from me then eBay would be aware of that and the feedback rating would illustrate that also.

I think you've got far too much time on your hands and need to find something more productive to pour your time into.

My message certainly wasn't spurious. I just pointed out that it was obviously not the same lens and that the forum knew where the image came from. It takes all kinds!

Hmm.. very nervous reaction to be honest. I think I'll have him marked down just in case I am out on eBay for some glass again :P

And I'm not even going to bother responding back. I think he'll get the hint, given another member has messaged him as well.

dude post a cropped photo of a 50/1.4 (worth twice as much as a 50/1.7) and is upset when a prospective bidder asks a question?

Stay away. Stay far, far away.

Yeah, the guy is kind of a d-bag... I'd give them a wide berth.

I'm not vouching for the seller, and I don't have a dog in this fight. However, the seller does have a respectable feedback rating based on nearly 600 transactions, and is offering a variety of interesting lenses at fair-market prices. Makes one wonder why the seller would post the image of the 50/1.4, which is apparently taken from someone else.

A question posed on the listing's Q&A section might be in order.

That's what I thought. A guy's selling name is classic_glass and he calls a lens by several different brand names? While various lenses can be mounted to various cameras, a lens itself only has one brand name.

Compare his listing here:
Tamron Adaptall 135mm ƒ/2.5 Close Focus lens M42 Adaptall

With Wy Camera's photo here: Tamron Adaptall 135mm f/2.5

OR, even better, compare the front element circular light reflections and iris blade markings on "classic_glass" fotos of the Jupiter 85mm/2.0 here: ::Classic Glass::? Stunning Jupiter 9 85mm ?/2 M42 portrait lens - Best Version | eBay

With MF Lenses 2011 post here: Jupiter-9 85mm f/2

Either he's selling everyone else's lenses, amazingly having come across them from various sources, or he's faking his listings.

Edit: By "faking" I don't mean you won't get a lens called, for example, a "Jupiter 9", but we definitely are not seeing actual photos of the actual items for sale. He is misrepresenting the items he is selling.
