It is totally beyond my comprehension how ANYONE could be against stem cell research. But, maybe that's a subject that is best left alone.
Yes, we are all very encouraged by this latest news. My biological daughter was diagnosed with leukemia (1980) when she was 5 years old. Her chances of survival were put at 40%... but, thankfully, after radiation and chemotherapy, she survived. The doctors told us that the treatment would leave her sterile and she wouldn't be able to bear children. I have a granddaughter who will soon be 20 years old!
Luck runs in our family.... depending on how you look at it!
