Can We Gamble Here?

The big game is tonight and Otis is looking for suckers....errr, I mean gamblers, to place their wagers with him for a huge payout.
I don't personally gamble, but you can mail me and for a small fee, which will go into the "Starving Orphan Squirrel" fund...if any starving orphan squirrels should ever appear, which is highly unlikely, and I will give you Otis's pick as the winner. Keep in mind, as has been well proven here many times...Otis is never wrong!

So who is your pick? Elaborate if you desire...is it based on your team loyalty or on other factors, statistics, weather, deflated balls etc.??

Mostly, I am interested in what you are serving as snacks during the game. What kind of things do you serve for Super Bowl? I'll be viewing alone and will have a few snack foods and dips, but would like to know what others have...maybe next year I can come to your place for the big game if you have some really good stuff?

Regards!

My guess (I'm not a gambler) would be the Seahawks. I think the teams are pretty close, but I just think Seattle has better defense and seems like when really good offenses play really good defenses, odds are that the defense will come out on top.

But I don't really care. I'm a Bengals fan.

I don't have a clue I watch the game for the commercials. There is a meatloaf in the oven to go with mashed potatoes and mixed greens .

The Seahawks will be victorious, of course 👍 while we munch on all sorts of treats. Skittle, naturally, Frickles with ham & turkey & cheese wrapped in egg roll wrappers. Stuffed jalapenos guac and deviled eggs and all manner of good munchies!

Well, I've got to go with the Pats out of hometown loyalty, and of course having about no rational basis to pick a winner by other criteria. I hear it's supposed to be pretty close, so Pats by a field goal? Plus a touchdown.

As for snacks, I don't know yet. I think I may make some fresh popcorn in a bit, anyway. Maybe some sort of chicken salad sandwiches.

Hee, well, good. Think mine came out pretty well.

And it looks to be about halftime. Obviously pretty close so far.

I was so happy! 30 seconds to go and on the goal line with one of the best running backs in the NFL. I was cheering, celebrating, and looking out the window at Otis and yelling "I finally beat you, you little smart butt rodent!"

What could go wrong? Betting against Otis, that's what can go wrong.

Regards!

Oh yeah...I should have known it wasn't my night...I burned my popcorn Ratlady.

Amazing game. Seahawks definitely over thought their last play. Hand it off to Lynch -- three times if necessary -- and the game would have been theirs. Still a fun game to watch, since I have no rooting interest in either team.

Awws. Well, games don't get much closer than that there. Win or lose, I do prefer them to be close.

Awws. Well, at least it was a suitably-close game, for all that. I had no idea Otis was a Pats fan.

Yeah, that was a bad call but a lot of comments everywhere assume that Seattle would have won the game had they scored a touchdown. There was still 58 seconds on the clock and as was demonstrated in the first half, that's more than enough time for a team to score again and NE and Brady are more than capable of pulling it off, just as Seattle did with 36 seconds left in the first half. Can't say it was a boring game this year!

Did I miss anything good while the wife watched Downton Abbey? I have to admit that I did not watch most of the game. Maybe we need a Downton Abbey thread here.
