What a Shame!

It seems that I never take a drive out into the countryside here in SW Idaho that I don't see something like this. What a shame to see these old vintage cars become the victims of the weather and general neglect. Both of these old Mercury's were very "straight," body-wise. Granted, they aren't the most desirable body style for restoration.... but..... just sayin'.....

It's a shame that much steel hasn't been recycled into something useful.

Pictures like this are very American. Where else would you see two cars like that on farm? America's past rusting away in a quiet overgrown field.

Modern cars don't seem to rust so you won't get these sort of shots. That said Idaho is clearly a lot drier the Scotland, because cars of this age would be a small pile of brown laminated metal round here
