As Easy as Riding a Bike?

This is one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I love stuff like this.

I'm a fan of "smarter every day" series this episode probably one of the better ones I've seen. Thanks for sharing..

At first glance, this doesn't look like it would be very difficult to master, but his experience shows just how wrong first glances can be!

I've actually tried such a bike 35 years ago at a rural town fair. They really are as unridable as he says.

I thought the part of how the youngster took much less time to "learn to ride the bike" than the grown man was quite interesting. And, after the adult spent eight months re-learning how to ride it, and then having to learn how to ride a normal bike all over again was REALLY strange! The human mind is an odd thing, to be sure!

I'd give it a try. I have a feeling that the more you have ridden a bike the harder it would be!

My wife has literally forgotten how to ride a bike. I thought it was impossible but now I wonder.

People who haven't ridden for years start off again by looking down instead of into the middle distance (screwing their sense of balance) and try to wobble forward very slowly instead of letting the bike become stable at speed.

Interesting. I would not be one to try rewiring neural pathways to achieve this end. Thank you, no.

It's the opposite, Nakedgun.

You don't drive staring at the road in front of your fender, and you don't walk looking nervously at your feet. Accident waiting to happen.

Any technique that disrupts the eyes and ears being level while moving is unnatural.

As for speed, the more momentum you and the bike have, the more you tend to stay upright.

My most recent mountain bike crash was the result of going too slow (trying to be in the right place for a timer shot).
