Lucky for you 140 km/h is legal . My van is actually more efficient cruising at 140 km/h, in 6th gear, but might lead to me supplementing the traffic department budget if photographed. Unfortunately it's the 3 km uphill haul to work, on a cold engine, that keeps the consumption so high.
For some stretches of my daily route anything is legal, but the fuel prices/consumption stops me from driving much faster. At 210-215 it's more like 15 mpg... the downfall of small turbocharged engines. If you do push them, they use fuel for cooling.

I got spoiled by my minivan. Got an even trade on my 2012 Malibu that had a ton of problems (worst was the issue with the brake lights coming on when not braking and not coming on when braking) for the 2010 Grand Caravan. It was pretty much fully loaded with the exception of the sunroof or video packages. Had the upgraded 4.0L v6 engine, power sliding doors/lift gate, heated seats and side mirror defrosters. Those come in very handy in the winters here. But sadly, it was developing some engine trouble and was misfiring in one cyl and while I originally bought all new sparkplugs and a new coil pack for the bad cyl as well as a new gasket, when I went to go and do the work, I realized just how rusted the bolts on the engine were and knew they'd need replacing as well, if they didn't just snap and need drilled out. And at close to 200K miles on the original tranny, I decided it wasn't worth it as the Caravans aren't known for trannys lasting much beyond 200K.

So I sold it and bought my parents' 2013 Equinox from them. The AWD will be most welcome in the winter months. The gas milage is a lot better than the minivan. Just missing some of the upgrades the van had. Been kind of spoiled by those heated seats. Doesn't have nearly as much storage room inside.
I upgraded the stereo amplifier of the base model with one from the 8 speaker version. Wire harness hooks up identically and lets the subwoofer actually work with the radio AND provide noise cancellation when using BT. (In the base model, the subwoofer only provides noise cancellation, have to have the upgraded stereo options to have the sub actually work when playing music which is just weird.)

Other than that, it's still a stock base model Equinox for now.

Fuel costs this week ( oh yes it changes like the wind ) is $ 1 . 72 aud a litre for petrol and diesel $ 1 . 54 aud a litre
I'll try to forget the costs.

Heres my old ride which I only changed because a passenger and a little luggage wouldn't fit in the cabin

Really like the Outback. Looked seriously at one a couple of years ago. I'm a bit on the karge side...and not quite enough room for me. My choice, the 3.6 litre flat six, as you have. Unfortunately they don't offer that engine in the Outback anymore.
2019 is the last year for the 3.6, stock up on them while you can

The Ascent is definitely larger, although i don't know how much additional capacity they offer in the front 2 rows over the outback.

One of my favourite engines...of all time...the BMW Boxer twin. In the late '60's I wanted either an R60 or the R69s.

I've got a '67 Matchless 750cc G 15 CS Scrambler (factory Norton 750 engine in a lighter Matchless frame- Desert Sled) and a '78 Yamaha SR 500. In 1978 I had a chance to buy an excellent condition '68 BSA Spitfire 650. I took it for a spin and it performed very well. Could of had it for $ 500 CAD, but I decided against it. A regret.

My Hemi was sucking 15,7L/100km on my Christmas trip to Florida and back, we were doing 80 MPH most of the way, so not too bad considering.
Good thing we have "cheap" gasoline.

Since I retired four years ago, I do not really have a daily ride, rather a collection of vehicles for different purposes, kind of like a lens collection. My 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD was my daily driver from when I bought it new, until I retired in 2015. I still have it and use it if I go somewhere alone or if I am hauling things around. It has over three hundred thousand miles on it and still going strong. For shopping driving to town etc. we have a 2012 Chevvy Suburban 4x4 .
My toy is my 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited which I use for offroading and towing behind the flagship of the fleet, a 2017 Thor Tuscany XTE40AX motorhome.
There is not much I dislike about any of them, I like the 6.6L diesel engine in the truck, The suburban is very comfortable and a nicer ride than most fourwheel drive vehicles. The jeep is at home off road and really not a good blacktop vehicle and the motorhome, I especially like the Cummins diesel/6 speed Allison transmission

That's like electric car range, unless the gas tank is huge!

My wife just inherited a 2006 Chevy Cobalt with 17,000 miles on it, pretty much the opposite end of the spectrum. They say 140hp but they are extremely shy horses. Someone said, "Wow, only 17,000 miles!" My wife: "Well, he only used it to drive to the liquor store."
