Mr. Gary Moore

I've always had an affinity for Blues music and Gary Moore has always been one of my favorites. If you like this type of music, you might enjoy this. He's quite a virtuoso.

I really enjoy his "Still Got the Blues" era stuff from the early 90's. Too bad he left us so early

Paul, I learned about Gary Moore one morning, about 25 years ago. I was on my way to work at a construction site and heard this magical guitar riff in "Still Got The Blues" but I didn't know who the artist was. So, I pulled my pickup over and stopped at a pay phone (this was before the days of cell phones!) and called the radio station and asked the DJ, "Who was THAT?" Gary Moore has been with me ever since. True story!

As a kid, I remember him with Thin Lizzy.

I thought you meant the TV host from the 50s-70s. Showing my age I guess

That reminds me of the first time I heard Robert Cray (on the car FM radio) back in the day. I had pulled into the parking lot at work, and stayed in the car until the song (Smoking Gun) was over the and DJ identified who was playing. I was almost late for work!

This is a very long video, but two late greats, SRV an Albert King There must be quite a blues session going were ever these guys are with all the greatest that have departed over the years.

PS, skip to 39 minute, If you have little time.

Whilst I like Gary Moore, I would never call him a virtuoso. Playing, pretty much, the same pentatonic runs all night doesn't fit that description at all for me.

He had great feel and a lot of confidence too, which goes a long way in that industry.
