What annoys you at work?

For me, there is a guy that clears his throat every 10-20 seconds. It has been driving me crazy for years. He must be aware that it is annoying to others as well, but we have never talked about it. I feel like dumping a load of throat lozenges on his desk and telling him that if he can't control it he should use them. Uggg!

Nothing has annoyed me at work for several years. That's because I'm retired.

my husband has this issue and spent 10 years trying to solve it. been to every dr and specialist. he hates it and it embarasses him. yes they know it bothers others and no lozenges dont work. what annoys me at work is gossiping, and talking bad about people. thankfully I dont work right now so I dont have to hear it.

If nasal drip has anything to do with it, try Flonase (or Nasacort -- one will work one better than the other for some people). You probably know about them, but they haven't been around that long and they are different from the older (addictive) nasal sprays...

we have tried that...he has a box of newer prescription steriod nose sprays, had tubes down his throat to measure stomach acid for 24 hours,, suggestion of 2 different surgeries (one for back of throat and one to limit stomach acid- both had about 60 percent success rate), nerve medication with a black box of suicidal warnings, anti anxiety meds, anti depressants, antacid pills, allergy shots and numbing sprays. also tried hypnosis and acupuncture. it is a very serious issue and I feel sympathy for anyone who struggles with ongoing issues that cant be helped. he even does it in his sleep. after 10 years and visits with specialist s, he is taking a break from all the poking and prodding. believe me, I live with it, he wants it gone.

I had a coworker that had breath so bad it made me vomit, seriously bad. I used to think he could help it, then I talked to him. seems he had been to every single specialist insurance covered and they couldnt fix it. I felt so bad for him. people would complain to our boss all the time about it.

edited to add more: they believe it is called laryngeal sensory neuropathy, the problem is the nerve drugs side effects are far worse than the throat clearing. so, since it is just annoying, most people don't take the drug

Customers, co-workers, and the non-functional IT department. Oh, and our new phones.

Too many of my co-workers daily act out like selfish willful children.
Unlike high school there are no checks on their behavior at work.

Men who leave their coffee mugs and water glasses in the sink rather then just rinsing them out and putting them in the dishwasher. There's nothing like being the first person in the office at 6:00am, going in the kitchen to start a pot - and confronting a stinking, fetid mess of greasy glassware in the sink.

I mean, really - its 2015 guys.

Those who scuff their shoes along the floor as they walk without any degree of urgency toward whatever their next task is... while others are "moving at speed" to get to the next task.

Yeah, I know I am being a jerk about it by complaining. It's a no-win for sure.
