There's Hope in this World!

Sometimes we see so much evil that we forget about the......so much good.

I have a new neighbor, with two young children around 6-7 years of age......boy and girl. I met them last week when the kids soccer ball went over the fence and into my yard. The kids asked if they could retrieve it...and I showed them how to open the gate anytime they needed. I spoke with the dad a few minutes and learned that he is Filipino and a single dad raising his two children with help from his family. All very polite and personable. The kids were well dressed and well mannered.

This morning I heard the doorbell ring and this is what I found on my front step. Two little envelopes....

The little boy even gave me a clip of cash...$4 and ten cents!

What wonderful young spirits, what graciousness and respect, what a wonderful deed for such young children! I have to believe that this is the future of our world, a world where we can all live together in peace and harmony. Maybe it is daydreaming, but there is hope....I saw it today!

Yes, you can bet I reciprocated, and yes Rhyan got his money back...and much more! I'd be proud if these were my kids.....and I am proud of my kids!

Regards!

Great story, you'd better keep those damned squirrels away from these nice kids.

Nice story, Rupert You did a good thing by being friendly and decent about them coming to get their ball (I live next to a couple who do child minding before and after school, so I often have a ball or other toy accidentally land in my garden ), and they responded in a very beautiful way. What a happy thought as I drift off to sleep tonight...

Lovely gesture. I hope Otis is kind to the neighbours too. Perhaps you can teach Otis to kick the ball back.

For those of you worried about Otis and the Squirrel Army.......don't! Otis loves little kids and views them as just "large squirrels"....it's us big people that give him concern, and as we look around, it's not hard to see why, is it?

Regards!
