The use of an ssd for the operating system only was a solid idea when they were small and expensive. Now you can get a 1TB ssd for a little over $300. Putting the OS and the few programs you use most on it will speed up processes considerably. If you want crazy fast, buy two and raid them.

Thanks, that makes sense. I might do that if and when my program launch times start to take more than 1 or 2 seconds
