Three comments from North America. I always thought that soccer isn't that popular in North America

My wife being German automatically makes me a fan......and I have the Schweinsteiger and Klose jerseys to prove it.

Looking forward to Sunday's match big time! If they don't tighten up the defense, it could be a shootout and a long day for Lehman.

Ya, it would have been nice for Germany to play Russian, but Spain is ok too. I'm originally from Germany and still cheer for them in football, the Olympics and Eurovision :-)

Eurovision :-)
Germany: zero points

Seriously, the European song contest is popular in East Europe which is a good thing as it helps them feel more at home in the EU. However, in West Europe, most notably Germany, it became a fun show not taken serious anymore at all. Look at ... Guildo Horn – Herzlich Willkommen ... The new challenge seems to be to score last. I think we're doing pretty well in this respect

Soccer, of course soccer is another story...

Ya, I think even in '79 when I was last in Germany, it was treated as more fun than serious.

One of my favs from recent years was Ruslana in 2004 (from the Ukraine).

Well, I'll be in Chicago on Sunday, but I've warned my wife that I'll be making myself scarce for a while :-)

It was a good run Gooshin, the team is going to be strong and experience for years to come because of this cup tournament. You got nothing to worry about
