On paperback, I've committed myself to reading Joseph Campbell's "Masks of God" series (on book 1 now), and I have "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer queued up on the Kindle.

I'm sort of planning on giving William Gibson's 'The Difference Engine' another chance. (ie, that's queued up next) Didn't really like it last time but I think I was just in the mood for something else at the time.

My mind has actually abandoned me a little bit. I have a bit of trouble " reading ". I read the entire James Clavel series when I lived in Japan 20 years ago.

I can remember things I read in the 4th grade. I can't remember things the next day what I read the night before.

I do " ok" listening to audio books. I'm now listening to " taken".

I also listen to old time radio at night via iPhone.

Have you considered taking an herbal supplement? There are very good reports on the Nature's Balance, Brain Pep.
Yes, I do use it myself and there is a marked difference in memory and concentration. There are many other Ginko Biloba based products that are equally effective as well. If you are concerned about early stages of Alzheimer's Syndrome, worry no more. Here is one tried and true rule of thumb. Alzheimer's is not remembering where you left the car keys, Alzheimer's is not remembering what the car keys are for. Reading, crossword puzzles and even taking on a new language are wonderful ways to keep your gears sharp for a very long time.

So are games such as bridge or chess or go or checkers. They keep "the little grey cells" pumped up.

That was the only "required reading book" I ever had in school that I actually liked and re-read years later. Of course comparing it to the likes of Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre are pretty lopsided and unfair.

"The Purpose Driven Life" - Rick Warren on the bedside chest, "This Republic of Suffering" - Drew Gilpin Faust on Kindle, an untold number of western paperback dime novels from the $1 Bin at the Book House surely to be in my stocking.

I've been on a reading kick as of late, so in the past 3 weeks, I've finished: Eyes of the Dragon- Stephen King, Polgara the Sorceress and Belgarath the Sorcerer by David and Leigh Eddings, Iceberg/Inca Gold and Shockwave by Clive Cussler (just finished shockwave this morning, actually), and H.P. Lovecraft- Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror and the Macabre. Once my latest order from amazon arrives, I'll be reading the entire 10 book Belgariad and Malloreon series by David and Leigh Eddings. Then I'll probably start ordering the original 8 books of Terry Brooks' Shannara series.

I learned about the 1958 discovery of this plane from a display at the March Field Museum in Moreno Valley, California, probably ten years ago. They had B&W photos of it, and perhaps a machine gun and other items (can't remember, now) recovered from the wreckage.

Good points. I have been studying chess for about two years now. There are times when I wonder, "Why would someone do that to themselves?" )). Now, for real self punishment, there is a four letter word" Golf. (.

Thanks,
Tony
