Yup, they reissued it recently. Although he's fictional, the main character in the book Henry Bowman grew up in the same period I did and with my father being a target shooter, I was exposed to the same culture. I even had a FFL though not a class 3.

I saw some Richmal Crompton "William" books in a secondhand bookshop so had to buy them. I haven't read them since I was a child. In fact, the book I am reading now has the annotation of Happy 9th Birthday.

I've always reckoned I looked a bit like William.
