Just reminded me, we had someone at work named Jo Frazer. Unlike the boxing legend Smoking Joe, she was (obviously) female and white. She had a great sense of humor about it though.

I once hired two brothers ...from Georgia no less...Billy and Jimmy Carter. No reflection on the President intended here, but they were the dumbest two guys I ever hired. They didn't mind telling you that their daddy was their uncle and their momma was their aunt....which explained a lot!

Regards!

Say kids, what time it is?

It's Howdy Doody time!

For you young whippersnappers, Howdy Doody was a marionette. The show ran from 1947 to 1960. I remember turning on the TV set and waiting 5 minutes or so for it to warm up enough to get the picture to show up.
We didn't get that here. TV didn't start in Ox until 1956 and we didn't get a TV until some years later.

No front plates required for cars registered in Alberta. I drove for several years with a California front plate that came with the car and others have front plates for NWT, being retired, the Flames or Rider Pride.

The vehicles I drive at work have to have both plates but they do not have registration nor insurance, and the plates say Canada. Other local plates with both front and back are the same colour as Alberta plates but say British Army and the number starts with AB meaning in Alberta.

I am a civilian employed by National Defence. I try to keep our Base from getting in Trouble with the heavy weights, Environment Canada. The Base is mainly a training area for the British Army hence I need to understand three languages, Englush, British and whatever the Scots speak, and the stop signs are English and French.

That is one of those situations where the family tree has no branches.

I once knew a bloke named W. Anker (the W as for Walter). He was Dutch so I guess his parents didn't see the possibilities.
