With coffee, over easy eggs and toast

My tastes are not exotic. There's usually something decent on sale at the supermarket.
As long as it's not weak or been sitting too long I'm in. Life is too short for bad coffee.

Right now I'm on a Gevalia Majestic Roast kick. Dark and smooth! (I drink it black, slightly stronger than recommended.)

My favorite coffee is fresh from plantation, peaberry beans. Unfortunately the freshness does not last long, only a week or so. I just brought half a pound home from vacation, and I'm sooo happy till this Friday.
Then it will turn into just a good coffee. And when it's gone, I will go back to Illy coffee.

Exactly...
I love roasting my own in cast iron. Coffee when roasted releases co2. Once the gases are fully depleted its stale. This only takes about 14 days past roasting. All depending on variety but typically a good city+ roast is best 7 days after roasting, freshly ground with burr grinder 10 minutes before brew.

My current batch is a Costa Rican Tarrazu.
It's a great bean variety!

Cheers!!

Bonka-branded (Nestlé) Colombian coffee. I always take a good long sniff before I make the coffee. Good coffee smells amazing even when it's just sitting in the packet.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker. Prefer freshly ground beans, but anything goes as long as it's strong. And nothing in it, of course.

Yep...Tarrazu is wonderful as is the peaberry micromacro mentioned above. I really enjoy the beans that are dried in such a way as to leave a little pulp attached here and there. If people realized how easy and wonderful it is to home roast, many more would.

There is a coffee shop in Hastings Minnesota called Dunn Brothers that roasts all their coffee in house. When we visit my in-laws I turn into a ball of jitters.

I was hooked on Sunburst Tres Rios from Costa Rica but they haven't had any for a while. I haven't tried the Tarrazu yet but I might do that now. I've been consoling myself with Gevalia Costa Rica in the mean time as it's cheaper in the store than direct.

I was given some Carmel Foglifter beans. That is very good ground and percolated at moderate strength with a little milk.

Death wish is my favorite coffee, but it's expensive, so i don't drink it often.
Folgers Black Silk is my every-day coffee. Not as good as the DW, but it's not bad.

we just use a regular machine. My wife and i will drink an 8 cup pot every morning on days i have to work. 10-12 on the weekends when i'm home.
