Memories !
May the 24th long weekend. Victoria Day ! I always looked forward to it as a kid and young man ...and Canuck. Usually the first day where the sun was hot enough that I invariably got a bad sunburn...which back then in the '50's and '60's we didn't realize that a bad sunburn was something to avoid.
Back then as a young guy the beer case of choice was a 24...or as we called it on the Canadian prairies...'a two-four'.
I liked Molson's Canadian, but also Old Stock and Carlings Black Label. Labatt's Blue was also a good choice.
Now that I'm an old Geezer
.....my beer of choice is Budweiser Prohibition...a zero beer...which Bud indicates 'Drink Freely' on the can. But as an old Geezer I usually have one beer a week, along with a tube of Pringles Low Salt potato chips.
That's it.
Everything in moderation as my Doc sez, if I want to get to a ripe old age...rather than being ripe
at a lesser age.
No more popcorn (hard on the teeth...have a tooth implant as a result
) ...or Cheetos...not hard on the teeth...but I'm into Pringle's Low Salt.
I actually met the designer of the Pringles Potato Chip...Dennis Gage...at a car show years ago. Very nice guy, funny, good fellow.
