How a Tradition Came to Be

One year, long ago at the North Pole, things were particularly chaotic.
The elves were threatening to strike; several reindeer were sick; toy production was behind schedule and, to top it off, Mrs Clause was nagging Santa fiercely.
Just as things were as hectic as they coud get and Santa was at his wit's end, there was a knock at the door.
Santa opened the door and there was an angel. The angel said "Santa, I have your tree. What do you want me to do with it?"
A tradition was born.

Watch out for dihydrogen monoxide it can be very deadly if inhaled!

Dihydrogen monoxide:
  • is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
  • contributes to the "greenhouse effect".
  • may cause severe burns.
  • contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
  • accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
  • may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.
Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
  • as an industrial solvent and coolant.
  • in nuclear power plants.
  • in the production of styrofoam.
  • as a fire retardant.
  • in many forms of cruel animal research.
  • in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
  • as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

Nasty stuff, but just a splash in a nice single malt opens up the flavor.

Would you believe that this list was used at a Green protest, and the man managed to get dozens of protest signatures on his "petition" to ban H2O. Those protesters would sign anything it seems.
