I thought I had posted this question, but I cannot locate it now, Sorry if this is a repeat of something I posted within the last few days.

Any chance that artificial intelligence will replace natural stupidity?

The original was printed on a piece of sheet steel, affixed to a hotel kitchen wall and showed clear signs of use.

I feel sure i have already shared this, but here goes :

When you've done the best you can
But the crap still hits the fan
The day may not be a complete loss -

Some of the crap may hit the boss.

Some managers feel the best way to keep staff on their toes is to get under their feet. Others just get under your skin.

Definition of delegation :
'I can't do it, so I'm giving it to you to muck up'.

Genuine quote from one of my (many) ex-managers :
'I haven't given you permission to use your initiative'

Management exercise regime : Jumping to conclusions, and ducking responsibility.

'The Peter Principle is based on the idea that competent employees will continue to be promoted, but at some point will be promoted into positions for which they are incompetent, and they will then remain in those positions because of the fact that they do not demonstrate any further competence that would get them recognized for additional promotion.

According to the Peter Principle, every position in a given hierarchy will eventually be filled by employees who are incompetent to fulfill the job duties of their respective positions.' Ring any bells ?

The manager's position:

If people under my control succeed, it's only because they did what I told them to do. If they fail, they didn't follow my orders.

Seeing some of our newer employees, this is no longer a joke. I'm glad I'm close to full retirement.
A standing joke we had was "The definition of a managers meeting - A rock garden." It also now defines a group of newly hired 20 somethings.

A company owner was asked a question, "How do you motivate your employees to be so punctual?" He smiled and replied, "It's simple. I have 30 employees and 29 free parking spaces. One is paid parking."

Since so many 'gender-specific' words are being amended for political correctness, should female management now be referred to as 'Miss-management' ?

M and I have been through several how to make it gender neutral or gender inclusive and found gender sneaks in. For example, should it correctly be

Mail-man, or Mail-female, or Mail-person, or Mail-human, or Mail-woman, or Mail-lady, or Mail-girl,

M suggester "femail-man" (or was she saying "female-man??")

Perhaps clumsily it should be Mail-deliverer, except that "mail" still sounds exactly like "male"

SO: Postage-deliverer, tripling the number of syllables to obtain gender neutrality/inclusivity.

Pretty good although they carry packages as well as letters. Deliverist is OK, unless they are also evangelizing to deliver us from evil.

A femail man (or a "fee mail man") is one who delivers postal communication seeking payment for goods or services. Of course, we canalso use "Postal Worker."
