Not Dave or David, but I'm related to Fess Parker who played Davey Crockett on TV in the late 50's. early 60's.

Well, I have two cousins one a year older than me who is named 'Samuel Henry', and his brother who is named 'Adam Daniel Boone'. The reasoning behind these names? Don't know, but there are many 'Boone' names in my mom's family, was someone distantly related or were they just fascinated with the name?

Well a relative's given name is David; however he has always gone by Dave. So, he's both.
