Laptop or tablet with good keyboard

I have a Netbook that has the keyboard flush with the surface, & I find this very irritating to type on; as you can't "feel" the keys. What other choices are out there; probably preferring a tablet that I can attach a keyboard to.

I was also looking at the Lenovo Yoga 2; anyone have one of these, if so comments?

One thing I'll say:
I have NEVER found a laptop with a keyboard I liked. (I often go through stores and type on laptops randomly)
I've always used some an external keyboard.

We got a Yoga 2 last year mostly for travel. It's pretty good for that purpose: good size, not heavy, reasonable battery life, works well as a tablet or laptop. I think we paid $400 at Best Buy. The upgrade to Windows 10 worked fine. My wife says the keyboard works for her. I type with one finger. The display is fine for laptop use or even Netflix in a hotel room. My pictures look OK on it but I almost always wait to process them at home.

Thanks for that information on your experience! That sounds encouraging. Yeah, I wouldn't be doing any processing of my photos on it. I'll see if anyone in town has this one; my options for hands on, in this area are pretty slim.

I have a $5 case logic usb mini keyboard with decent, raised keys and about the same footprint as a netbook kb, that I use with my nexus 7 tablet (the kb is actually twice as big).

if it doesn't need to be portable, old-skool mechanical keys are the way to go for the best tactile feedback.

gamers brought it all back years ago, i have a Cooler Master Gaming » Products: Quick Fire Rapid-i keyboard that i can plug into a laptop or a desktop, it sits in a pull-out keyboard tray fastened under the desktop... better ergonomics.

I would want it to be portable; as I have a desktop with a pull-out keyboard tray with an Eclipse keyboard.

My wife has a Yoga 13 which is similar to the Yoga 2 and loves the keyboard - she's a writer and types heavily on it. In fact, when looking for an external keyboard she looked for one that felt closest to her Yoga 13.

Thanks! That's the kind of information I'm looking for! That's a great endorsement of it!

I really think it takes a larger size machine to accommodate a decent built in keyboard.
I use a 17" Toshiba Qosmio and the keyboard is just fine.

I use an iPad and Logitech Bluetooth keyboard that also serves as a Landscape stand for the iPad. While compact, it is a real, rigid keyboard with raised keys that have actual tactile response. The screen keyboard disappears when the Bluetooth connects (usually immediate). There is significantly more keyboard function than the screen keyboard. A charge (USB Mini from a laptop port) lasts about 6 months. I never turn it off. It connects facing in with the iPad magnets for transport, serving as a hard case (I slide the whole thing in a neoprene sleeve).

I actually use this setup for my outside client business meetings now rather than a full laptop. In educational conferences (I have to do 40 hours of professional CE a year) I take real-time lecture notes in Notepad touch typing and correct typos by touching the word on the screen.

I've never processed photos on this, of course.

That's missing the 10-key though.
