Hi there, i have a Canon EOS 300D with a 18-55mm lens and i just wondered if any of you knew what the next lens up from the 18-55mm is?

The one i have got is ok for close up photos but i need a lens for like long distance, the 18-55mm lens is the only lens i got with this camera....

Any idea where i can get the next lens up from the 18-55mm lens to and how much do you think they will cost...?

this is a pentax forums not a canon forum so I wouldn't expect too many people to know enough information to help you. your next choice in lens is entirely up to what you want to photograph and how you want to photograph it. if you are looking for a telephoto zoom lens to be a companion to your 18-55mm all I can offer after doing a quick search is either the EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM or the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS.

ProTip: Since you already have a slew of Pentax lenses and your hubby is a pentaxian, the logical step would be for you to buy a K-series Digital SLR made by Pentax, no?
