The K1 tempted me..

so I bought a new bicycle instead and now can't afford a Kanything

The lure of the K1 was a boy's toys thing, I'm happy with what I have so I bought what will in all probability be my last bike. Drop handlebars, wafer thin tyres and thin uncomfortable seats don't have the appeal they once had so I got a Hybrid so I can trundle along paths and byways into my dotage

But you can't take super megapixel pictures with a bicycle (though getting to a location might be easier than walking)...

.... and shock absorbers, cushiony seat ... all that is required to make it a smooth ride !

Comfortable bicycle, relatively smooth ride, no hands and SR will take care of the rest. You made a good choice!

But, is it a full-frame bicycle, or one of the lesser sizes?

You aren't alone.
I sell WAY more hybrids than drop bar road bikes.

I love my roadie and MTB, but commute on a Scott hybrid. Gotta be pragmatic. ☺

Unfortunately I just find the roadie too uncomfortable for my ageing body and a long day in the saddle just doesn't appeal anymore so rather than give up after a lifetime of cycling (I have never driven or owned a car) comfort won the day - And I won't feel guilty about 'wasting' my money on a K1.

While I'm the very last guy in the world who would go "carless", I love bike riding. When I retired in '09, my wife and I bought a pair of modestly-priced fitness/commuter bikes; now, after seven years, they've logged over 21,000 miles. Had you told me back then we'd ride 3000 miles a year, I would've have laughed at the thought. Great hobby, great exercise.

Enjoy your new bike.

If the original equipment tires are knobby as is typical don't expect an easy or smooth ride on pavement...

What kind of "hybrid" did you get? I've had an electric bike for a couple of years. . . and it's great, though I don't get onto it as often as I should. The Q7 Premium Kit is a good companion to sling over my shoulder for those outings.

Maybe whenever monsoon season ends here in Texas I'll find time to go pedal around more.

I don't like hybrid bikes, it's almost like using a superzoom lens.

Well, if we are going to be purists, the bike I road to school had a single gear. I suppose that equates to a pinhole camera. (This could end up like "The Four Yorkshiremen" for those who remember Monty Python.)
