Very true, Rupert; I'm glad I experienced things like the old leather worker; it definitely enriched my life. Of course couldn't say the same for my Mother, when I started building & tooling a saddle in our little living room!

My apologies to the OP, for getting waaaay off topic.

Getting back on topic, the PT Cruiser must not be too popular here, as I've only seen a couple around town.

I had to look at my Nissan Frontier to see how the tierod is attached, just for piece of mind.

I like the six speed in our 2001 Miata but it may not be cost-effective if it doesn't bolt on or you have to change the axle ratio.

I can get another used tranny or rebuild that one. A low mileage 5-speed NB tranny would be ideal. I just have to switch the speedo cable & I think the mounting plate. Slightly stronger than the NA tranny.
