One should cast aside assumptions about cheap = low quality. The Japanese taught us to question that link, then the Koreans and Taiwanese did, and now the Chinese are passing on the same lesson. With photo gear, IT products, lenses, chips, mobile phones etc, and hopefully tyres.

I got a good deal on a set of USA-made General Altimax RT43 tires.
A nearby dealer was cheaper than Tire Rack, and no shipping charge!
They didn't even try to give me the usual hard sell on a wheel alignment.

Afterwards on my way home from the tire shop I stopped at the car wash.
The attendant actually asked if I wanted Armor All on my brand new tires!

Hee, probably unnecessary. I do put some kind of stuff on mine once in a while since age is likely to get to them before mileage, but that's with Southern sun and all.
