It's time to move your hunting for cheap lenses locally. Sort of sucks having to drive around or use the phone but the deals can be found locally. The easy days are for the most part gone .

Don't be such a sore loser. If someone else is willing to pay more for a lens than you, why shouldn't they? What makes your need so much more important than theirs? Banning linking to interesting ebay auctions is just selfish. You just want to get yours and you don't give a shit about anyone else.

Not cool.

it's not about not everyone else having it. it's unfair to the ones that want a good deal on it. i dont want some n00b ramping up the price 10x over cuz they are just bidding for the sake of bidding. im watching a few items now, 4 days left on an mz-s, 8 bids...EIGHT!!!! what is that, on four days left.

chances are that one person that put the max bid up to 4x the starting price will not bid again.

it's annoying for ppl that try to hunt and find a good deal on certain things, the ppl that will actually buy, not the ones that just say, oh, lemme bid my max price 10 minutes after the auction was posted up.

thats not cool...

Bullshit. There's nothing "unfair" about it. It's an auction, people outbid each other, it's how these things work.

Every auction I've lost has been simply because I wasn't willing to pay more than someone else. You can kick and scream that some "n00b" didn't play the way you wanted and life didn't go your way, but it's still no one's fault but yours.

This is what I hear when people complain about eBay:
"I got me a 900 dollar camera, now I'm gonna go to eBay and bid 19 dollar on a lens. Hey, somebody sniped me, that ain't fair. Who can I blame this on?"

Gotta love when people chime in, without really understanding what the thread was originally about!

If you are, as you say, "starting to hate eBay," maybe you should stop using it.

OK - as the constructiveness and intelligence in this thread has dropped dramatically, maybe it would be a good time for a Mod to close it, as this isn't going anywhere....

Thank you.

It's really not surprising, given your earlier bitchfit, that as soon as people disagree with you you want the thread closed.

You're going to be disappointed a lot in life.

I really don't appreciate the word you have chosen to use here. Even when I complain publicly, I try to refrain from posting comments in this manner. Please try to do the same. Thanks.

Take it easy...there's no need to start flaming people over a perfectly rational ebay discussion.

You hear these stories about someone discovering a Rembrandt at
a garage sale and getting it for $10 or something.
Of course the seller is ignorant of the value or they wouldn't sell so low.
But isn't there an argument to be made that if you buy something from
someone that hasn't got the knowledge to know the real value, that you
are sort of taking advantage and it's a bit unethical?

Isn't this what you're complaining about? Someone points out to the
world that there is an item not getting good exposure, for whatever reason.
The seller is suddenly being treated more fairly.
Buyers who thought they could sneak away with a $24 Manhattan Island are
suddenly dealing with a bigger auction and they don't get to rip off the Indians!

Awww - wah wah wah
