A friend has a Das Keyboard, and it is failing on him already. That being said he may be rather rough on it...?

There is always the option of getting a small USB LED light aimed at the keyboard...

I'm sorry, but I want only an illuminated keyboard! This is what I've got now, and will not get one that is not illuminated. If I just wanted a light on the keyboard, I could turn on the light above the computer.

I really love the illuminated keyboards!

An illuminated keyboard is not as useful as expected.
What I really need is illuminated fingers!

Give me an old IBM Model M buckling-spring keyboard any day!

I've used one for many years now, and absolutely would not go back to one that is not illuminated. Again, it's personal preference, and we have to choose what works best for our needs.

Das Keyboard, or look at gamer keyboards. Razer have some beautifully clicky keyboards for example.

Those are expensive! Black looks "cool" but is harder to see in dim light. They appear to be USB only.
I have a couple of older systems that wouldn't even recognize a USB device until an OS is installed.
I'll stick with my PS/2 models which continue to work just fine.

This company in USA still makes models based on the old IBM Model M keyboard:

That's exactly why I prefer illuminated keyboards.

Carol,

Here's a link about the Cherry MX switch types (black, red, blue, brown) used in gaming keyboards.

Cherry mx blue, red or brown - [Solved] - Computer Peripherals

The keyboards you have linked, may not be the Cherry MX brand of switch, but if the manufacturer stuck with the same color reference, that might give you an indication of what to expect from the keyboard you pick.

Of the keyboards you picked, the first one says "blue switches", and may give you the audible click when pressed. Your second and third choices, keep the receipt.

Newegg is having black Friday deals all month long. If you don't need the keyboard ASAP, there might be a deal pop up there.

Thanks

Well, I still find the keyboard on my ThinkPad L450 and my IBM-era keyboards (ThinkPad Travel Keyboard and SpaceSaver II) most satisfying to type on.

The TrackPoint also works well with Photoshop, SilkyPix, and ON1 Photo. Also usable for some gaming.
