I am not much into "comedies", but 1980's "Airplane!" (and to a lesser extent "Airplane II")]
Known as "Flying High" and "Flying High II" here and in other parts of the world. There were many good scenes in that film.

I could go in many directions for some of my favorite scenes, but this one is definitely up there especially as one from recent years... Was quite a kick to see in the theater... The best of the X-men movies imho too...

The use of Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle" in that scene was genius.

It's so hard to pick a single favorite scene since there are so many but, "The Sicilian" scene in True Romance is definitely one of my favorites and probably one of the lesser known great scenes of cinema.

I got about halfway thru that video before I stopped it, then dusted off the DVD to watch this movie again.

Very entertaining, Paul. Many don't realise Tarantino wrote the script.

I loved Patricia Arquette getting the better of the murderous James Gandolfini.

I prefer Clint Eastwood movies.
Clint has some impressive items on his resume.

Loved him in the Spaghetti Westerns.

One of the best Westerns.

Of course he didn't always use a 44.

Another of my favorite movies is 1964's "Seven Days in May" directed by John Frankenheimer, who also directed Birdman of Alcatraz, Grand Prix, The Manchurian Candidate, The Train, and The Gypsy Moths.

It had big-name stars including Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Fredric March, Martin Balsam, Ava Gardner, Edmund O'Brien, and Whit Bissell.

The movie was written mostly by Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame.

In a nutshell, Burt Lancaster, with the heads of the different armed services, is planning a political coup to overthrow president Fredric March. Kirk Douglas works for Lancaster and discovers the secret, which he relays to the president.

There are no weak scenes, so I give you two.

In this first scene, President Lyman confronts General Scott.

This is the ending scene with a speech by the president, moments after obtaining the resignation of all the traitors. Rod Serling all the way.

Serling was a genius.

I can't name a favorite. There are so many great films, so many great writers, directors, producers, actors. I doubt that any single one can be best, since they are all great.

I like many different genres, Westerns, science fiction, war movies, comedies, anything that is done well and has good continuity.

One film that I really like is The Life And Times Of Judge Roy Bean. Like Its A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, the cast is a who's who of the time. Paul Newman, Roddy McDowell, Ned Beatty, Victoria Principle, Jacqueline Bisset, Ava Gardner, Tab Hunter, Stacy Keach, Anthony Perkins.

Bad Bob comes to town.

The boys play poker. Everything is cool until the dude indiscriminately shooting up the Jersey Lily bar shoots the poster of Lily Langtree.

Bean is pretty touchy about Lily Langtree. He has an enormous respect for women. In the next scene he does the right thing and makes a formal apology to the town's 'women folk'.

westerns come up often when "best" movies are discussed

the next movie you watch try counting the number of horses in the bunch of cowboys or Indians or soldiers...sometimes even herds of horses

there is a number that equals a bunch of horses
